Reference Request Form


This form is used to contact the reference staff with questions concerning the holdings of the Western Historical Manuscript Collection-Columbia.

Procedure

Once the form has been submitted, the reference staff will check free of charge all of our finding aids, which include:

The reference staff will inform you within two weeks of materials that might be of interest. Please be patient.

If you want the staff to search the actual collections for specific items or information, or to make reproductions, those requests are subject to a non-refundable processing fee of:

The non-refundable fee includes up to 10 photocopies or microfilm printouts.

Requests for photocopies/printouts over that amount, and requests for photographs, digital images, and other reproduction services are subject to additional charges. (See the copy service prices and procedures page for more information.)

Researchers are limited to three specific requests per communication. If more than three names/topics are submitted, the reference staff will only check the first three.

Reference Request
Please provide relevant information concerning your research and interest in WHMC-Columbia holdings. Researchers interested in purchasing photocopies should visit WHMC-C's copy service prices and procedures page. WHMC-Columbia will also loan microfilmed collections through interlibrary loan.

Genealogists should include the full names, the locations (city and county), the birth and death dates of your ancestors (if known), and what information you are wanting to find. Genealogists may also want to browse our online guide to family history research.
