INTRODUCTION
The Providence Baptist Church of Madison County had been an arm of the Bethel Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. It was organized on 20 September 1813.
The record book contains brief entries dealing almost entirely with newly received members. Its best use is as a genealogical tool.
DONOR INFORMATION
The record book of Providence Baptist Church was transferred from the State Historical Society of Missouri to the Manuscript Collection on 14 October 1971 (SHS Accession No. 888).
