INTRODUCTION
The minutes of Lodge 513 of the International Order of Good Templars documents membership information and lodge activities such as election of new officers, planning funerals for lodge members, and fund raising.
The Good Templars was a society to promote worldwide prohibition of liquor and total abstinence for the individual. It was organized in Syracuse, New York, in1851. The Prohibition Party and the Woman's Christian Temperance Union grew from it.

The minutes of the International Order of Good Templars, Lodge No. 513 were transferred from the State Historical Society of Missouri to the Manuscript Collection on 14 October 1971 (SHS Accession No. 888).
