INTRODUCTION

The record book of the Gasconade River Association of the United Baptist Church contains minutes and member information. The Gasconade River Association was organized in 1847 to provide an opportunity for communication between the Baptist churches in the region.

The record book documents baptisms, new members, dismissed members, and deaths. Also included are financial statements regarding the appropriations of funds to the churches. The record book is useful in tracking membership trends in the Baptist churches in the area.

DONOR INFORMATION

The Gasconade River Association Record Book was transferred from the State Historical Society of Missouri to the Manuscript Collection on 14 October 1971 (SHS Accession No. 888).
