DONOR INFORMATION

The Board of Trustees Records were donated to the State Historical Society of Missouri by Fredric D. Redeker on 12 June 1979 (SHS Accession No. 2235). The collection was microfilmed by the Missouri State Archives.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The collection consists of two volumes containing board minutes, May 1919-April 1942, and a treasurer's ledger dating from incorporation in April 1899 to October 1919. The minutes deal with general administration of this Gasconade County village. The ledger contains income and expense accounts and lists of taxation and business licenses. Loose items include a 1918 ordinance for the extension of the corporate limits and information on village electrification in 1917.

VOLUME LIST

v. 1Board of Trustee's Minutes, May 1919-April 1942. Monthly meeting minutes. The mayor served as the chairman. Elections were held each April and a new board formed. Minutes deal with the payment of village bills, street lighting, electrification, telephone service, water and sewer systems, public health, taxes, and ordinances for public safety and curfews for children.
v. 2Treasurer's Ledger, April 1899-October 1919. Accounts from the date of incorporation as a village in 1899. General business accounts, records of payment of poll, land, and property taxes, and the purchase of business licenses. These types of entries are continued in the minutes in volume 1.
