ORGANIZATIONAL SKETCH

The Pin Oak Creek Baptist Church was founded on 4 July 1855 when the Rev. August Rauschenbusch baptized its first seven members. It had its first church service on 13 January 1856 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J.O. Kuhlenhoelter. By 1859 the church building was a log cabin overlooking the Pin Oak Creek. The church was a member of the Missouri German Baptist Association.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The Leimkuehler Papers consist of photocopies of the early records of the Pin Oak Creek Baptist Church which Ricka Leimkuehler used in her research about the church. From these copies she made transcripts and translations of the records.
