Internships

The State Historical Society of Missouri is pleased to provide learning opportunities to students through its Internship Program. Interns will be matched with SHSMO staff and given the chance to explore a variety of Society operations.

Internship opportunities are limited and are therefore filled based on availability.

Art Intern

The art intern will work with the art department on a variety of projects and events, including processing art collections, preparing exhibitions, and assisting in art-related events.

Oral History Intern

The Oral History intern will gain hands-on experience in all aspects of the oral history process. Interns will learn how to research, write questions, and conduct their own oral history interview to complete their internship. Interns will work on processing interviews and helping to create interview transcripts and summaries. Topics include, but are not limited to the environment, one-room schoolhouses, veterans, politics, and athletics/recreation to name a few ongoing projects.
